What Is TESA, Who Is The Right Candidate, And Its Procedure?

What Is TESA, Who Is The Right Candidate, And Its Procedure?

TESA or Testicular Sperm Aspiration with IVF Treatment

        Quick Inquiry

        What Is TESA?

The professional uses TESA or Testicular Sperm Aspiration to retrieve sperm. It is a procedure that is very beneficial for men suffering from a blockage in the sperm passage tube. This concern makes it challenging for the men to ejaculate the sperms or even contemplate the absence of the sperm while ejaculating.

The TESA Centre in Bathinda has designed this procedure to cure male infertility issues. It generally helps offer some hope to those couples who are unable to conceive naturally with the assistance of reproductive techniques such as IVF, ICSI, and IUI in an IVF centre in Punjab. Apart from that, this treatment is also known for retrieving sperm from the testicles. The doctor further processed the IVF treatment or even cryopreservation techniques in the laboratory.

Who Is The Best Candidate For TESA?

Those men who lack sperm in their semen, can cause trouble for the couple who wants to get pregnant, which increases the alarm of infertility. There are two types of azoospermia.

        Types Of Azoospermia

        • Obstructive Azoospermia

In obstructive azoospermic, the sperm that the men produce in their testicles is enough, but they cannot ejaculate. The reason behind such issues is the plumbing issues that stop them from traveling out of the testes.

Some of the most obstructive azoospermia includes vasectomy, which is a process wherein the doctor purposely cuts the vas deferens in half. It can either be for external problems or birth control. Other such reasons include cystic fibrosis. It is basically a congenital lung disease that inevitably affects fertility.

        • Non-obstructive azoospermia

Non-obstructive azoospermia is basically a disorder wherein the man is unable to produce adequate amounts of sperm or has abnormal sperm. In some cases, there is no sperm production.

There are two main reasons that could cause these disorders: Pretesticular Non-Obstructive Azoospermia or Testicular Non-Obstructive Azoospermia. This could then be further related to hormonal changes, testicular changes, and other concerns.

Out of both, men who have Obstructive azoospermia are the ideal group who can undergo the TESA as it assists in dissecting the sperm out of tubules from the testes.

What Is The Procedure Of TESA?

It is divided into two clear processes:

        Local Anesthesia

The doctor prescribes the patient with some local anesthesia as it is a minimally invasive procedure. This process is crucial as it helps the patient have a numbing sensation in the testes and the other skin surrounding them to avoid any pain or discomfort during the surgery.

        Extraction

After the doctor has given anesthesia, they insert a larger needle into the testicles and the tubules. These are the places where they suctioned out the sperm with the help of a syringe.

There is no need for stitches post TESA as the doctor makes no incisions at the time of the treatment. If they are unable to find the sperms by this technique, then they move forwards with TESE (testicular sperm extraction)
