        Quick Inquiry

Egg & Embryo transfer both these steps are important to ensure the IVF cycle goes safely. The embryo transfer occurs on the 3rd or 5th day following egg retrieval. No doubt, some individuals opt for the frozen embryo transfer at the IVF Centre in Punjab which means the embryo frozen earlier will be used. If we talk about the frozen embryo transfer then it accounts for flexibility as to when to do it as compared to egg retrieval.

        Did you know?

How many embryos can be transferred?

Well! Usually, one is transferred and it’s ideal to boost the conception chances. If you have concerns about this factor, then better ask your IVF doctor about the same. So, the embryo quality is checked and your infertility state is considered to better plan the right treatment & give you an understanding of the Test tube baby cost.

What happens during the embryo transfer?

        • Initially, the name and date of birth are considered to be sure it is the same as to which embryo has to be used. The embryologist is extremely careful as to where the embryo transfer will be done. The lab with the high standards and extremely safe environment are used to make the treatment go smoothly.
        • While embryo transfer is done the use of anaesthesia is not there. If the patient’s pain tolerance is extremely low then something to relax the muscles are given. This approach allows the uterus to get into a relaxed state and then the embryo implant is carried out. For the embryo to implant in the desired place, it will be kept under a special catheter.
        • Then comes the speculum which goes into the vagina & through the same cervix is seen. Everything is visible clearly through the ultrasound & allows the treatment to be done with utmost ease.
        • As the catheter is placed in the desired place, the embryo is placed into the uterus and then further implant is performed.

Is there something that you should do to prepare yourself for embryo transfer?

Before the embryo transfer, you have to take all sorts of medications suggested by the doctor. Additionally, follow all the careful measures to make this embryo transfer journey as easy & smooth for you.

        Be cautious!

Anything which goes inside the vagina should be refrained from as it might affect the catheter interference. So, always follow all the necessary suggestions of the doctor.

        Is embryo transfer hurtful?

NO! There is no such hurt with this procedure. Slight discomfort is common to experience during this part of the IVF procedure.

What happens after the embryo transfer?

Following the embryo transfer, there are some measures which you have to take like:

        • Bed rest is important but there is no need to be a lazy person all the time. Laying all the bed all day long is not something that can make a difference in the condition.
        • It’s better to put a hold on certain activities after the transfer like intercourse, bath tube, and aerobics. As implantation occurs 72 hours before the transfer.
        • Make sure to take all the necessary medications.
