Step 2
Egg Retrieval from the ovaries
Following the first step, the eggs will be retrieved from the ovaries. This procedure is done by using a minor surgery known as follicular aspiration. With this process, the mature eggs will be retrieved from the ovaries.
Step 3
Fertilization of egg and sperm
The male sperm is placed with the best quality eggs. The sperm and egg will be placed in an environment controlled chamber. Into the egg, the sperm will enter after a few hours of the insemination process. In case, the fertilization chances are low then the sperm will be injected into the egg directly.
Step 4
Embryo Culture
Once the fertilized egg gets divided, it is going to develop into the embryo. The embryo will be checked by the laboratory to check that the embryo is matured. Within 3 to 5 days the embryo gets matured and this will have cells that will get divided actively.
Step 5
Embryo Transfer
Following the fertilization process from 3 to 5 days, the embryos will be placed in the woman’s reproductive system. After 2 weeks, the doctor will do a blood test to check for the pregnancy.
