Is HSG a painful procedure?

With this approach, there is mild pain and cramping as the uterus area is checked. In some cases, the patient might feel intense pain, specifically when the fallopian tubes are blocked and pressure is built upon them. Although, the pain will go away when the procedure is done.

Are there any side effects of HSG?

NO, this procedure is completely safe. Chances of infection are rare and that too happens in just 1% of the cases. The doctor will suggest you the antibiotics for that and the problem will be addressed.
